Sunday 8th of February is Racial Justice Sunday and we’ve compiled a list of some of the resources, events and services from around the Church of England.

Diocese of Bath and Wells


Wells Cathedral:  - Resistance, Racial Justice & Reconciliation an exhibition and events to mark Racial Justice Sunday


3rd February - 1st March, 09:00 - 16:30 A Celebration of Demonstration 

A photography exhibition exploring Black Lives Matter protests in London and Somerset that took place during the covid-19 pandemic.


8 February 2026 - 10.30am, Cathedral Eucharist on Racial Justice Sunday

A special service of the Cathedral Eucharist to mark Racial Justice Sunday, with guest preacher The Reverend Canon Sonia Barron, former Co-chair of the Church of England’s Anti-Racism Taskforce and member of the Archbishops Commision for Racial Justice.


Wednesday 25 February 2026, 7pm–9pm Talk and Q&A: What does Racial Justice and Reconciliation look like?

An evening exploring the legacy of Transatlantic Slavery and examples of reparative action in both the UK and the Caribbean. The event includes a Q&A and talks, notably “From Shame to Taking Action on Reparative Justice” by John Dower, Reparations Campaigner and Cofounder of Heirs of Slavery.


 

Diocese of Blackburn


Blackburn Cathedral - Blackburn Cathedral will host its annual service to mark Racial Justice Sunday at 10.30am on Sunday 8th February 2026. 10:30am


Christ Church, Lancaster - All Together service (all age) for Racial Justice Sunday at 10am. Followed by a free parish lunch! All are welcome.


Diocese of Canterbury


Canterbury Cathedral Racial Justice Sunday, 8 Feb 2026 - 'Love Your Neighbour'

This Sunday we will welcome the Reverend Guy Hewitt, Director of the Church of England Racial Justice Unit, as our preacher at our 11am Sung Eucharist for Racial Justice Sunday.

Diocese of Chichester


Chichester Cathedral - The Cathedral will be hosting the main service at 11:00am with their Racial Justice Co-ordinator, Mr Vitalis Ngwambi, giving the key address.
